Factors to Consider:
LINER SIZE: Determine the desired length, width, & depth of your pond to calculate the pond liner size. Select the kit size that is within range of what liner size you need. (Liner size should be thought of in finished pond size. Meaning, consider the depth plus 6” lip on each side. A 10x10 liner will result in a 6x6 water garden.)
DEPTH: The depth of a water garden is most commonly 1.5’ deep, while koi ponds should be at least 3 feet deep to protect fish from freezing during the winter months.
EPDM vs. PVC: Both options will do the job and are fish and wildlife safe. You will find EPDM liner to be more adaptive, durable and flexible with a 25 year warranty opposed to the 5 year warranty with PVC.
OPTIONS: Once you choose the kit size, you will find a selection of pond kit brands, each with a unique combination of waterfall width, skimmer size, and pump flow rate.
