    I've had it less than a week so I can't speak to longevity but it works well to slow my 960w pump.
    I don't use or even know how the timer or cycle function work, I leave it in manual mode at 70%.
    I noticed that when you power it off, then on again later, it takes about three minutes to establish connection with the app or remote so wait for it. It does immediately (when powered on again) start the pump at the same speed as last set.
    So far, I like it.
