Use the steps below to help make the right filter selections when shopping for your perfect Pond Kit!

Water Garden:  a decorative ecosystem system feature that often incorporates aquatic plants, designed to create a tranquil, natural setting.  Water gardens often attract wildlife such as birds, frogs, and insects, enhancing the ecosystem of the garden.  Recommended minimum depth of 1.5 feet for plant health, temperature regulation, and algae control.

 

Koi Pond:  a specialized type of water garden, typically deeper and designed specifically to house and showcase koi fish. Recommended minimum depth of 3 feet for temperature stability, increased oxygen levels, and swim space for fish.

Liner Length = Water Feature Length + [Water Feature Depth x2] + 2’

Liner Width = Water Feature Width + [Water Feature Depth x2] + 2’

Water Garden: Add 4 feet to desired length and width. Example: 10' x 15' water garden recommended minimum liner size of (10+4)' x (15+4)' = 14' x 19' (round up to 15' x 20')
Koi Pond: Add 7 feet to desired length and width. Example: 10' x 15' water garden recommended minimum liner size of (10+7)' x (15+7)' = 17' x 22' (round up to 20' x 25')
