Electrical Requirements +

  • Rated at 120 Volts, 60Hz only
  • Must use GFCI outlet, properly grounded per local codes
  • Create a "Drip Loop" with cord below the outlet
  • Electrical connection must be 6+ feet (2m) from water
  • Earth pump with bonding wire to buried copper rod
⚠️ Warning: Hard-wired installation voids warranty! Never use extension cords—causes voltage drop. AP-IPP4500 & 5500 include bonding wires.

Safety Warnings +

Critical Safety Rules

  • Never operate without water—freshwater must be flowing
  • Never operate submerged or in damp/non-ventilated areas
  • Never leave children unattended around operating pump
  • Always disconnect power before handling or maintenance
  • Never place hands near inlet while operating
  • Never connect to voltage other than shown on pump label
⚠️ Suction Entrapment Hazard: Damaged/missing outlet covers can cause hair, limb, or body entrapment. In pool installations, failure to bond pump to structure increases electrocution risk.
Note: Pump has built-in thermal overload protection. Wait 5 seconds after shutdown before restarting to prevent motor damage.

Installation & Operation +

Installation

  • Install as close to water feature as possible
  • Keep suction lines direct to reduce friction loss
  • Mount on firm, level, vibration-free base secured with screws/bolts
  • Keep away from debris, mud, and rocks

Priming

  • All suction and discharge valves MUST be OPEN
  • If water source is higher than pump, it will self-prime
  • If lower: remove strainer cover, fill housing, replace by hand only
  • Allow up to 5 minutes to fully prime after power-on
  • Close air relief valve after primed
Tip: Perform a pressure test before first start-up. If pump doesn't prime within 5 minutes, stop motor and check for obstructions.

Maintenance +

  • Clean strainer basket regularly—do NOT strike basket to clean
  • Inspect strainer cover gasket regularly; replace as needed
  • Self-lubricating bearings and shaft seals—no lubrication necessary
  • Keep motor clean and air vents free of obstruction
  • Do NOT use water to hose off motor
  • Replace shaft seals if worn using genuine seal assembly kit
⚠️ Important: Pumps damaged from restricted water flow (running "dry") are not covered under warranty. Always disconnect power before maintenance.

Warranty Information +

  • 24-month warranty from date of purchase (max 30 months from manufacture)
  • Covers defects in material and workmanship for original user only
  • Return to dealer with proof of purchase, installation date, and failure date
  • Defective products must be sent freight prepaid with RMA if instructed
  • Warranty claims must be submitted within 30 days after warranty term
⚠️ Not Covered: Damage from abnormal conditions, accident, abuse, misuse, unauthorized repair, or improper installation. Hard-wired installation voids warranty.
